Yorkshire buggered, and anyone else's buggered are two VERY different things. It has to be that bad before a Yorkshire man is satisfied it may need a new one 😳🤣

I think I'v got to the bottom of why these carbs had 135 main jets in them (unless some dingbat was trying to run a small block chevy on them ) the accelerator jets were blocked, the one on the left carb cleaned out quite easily, not so easy with the one on the right carb . fairly simple system, it triggers as soon as you open the throttle and a small amount of fuel is fed into a second tube joining the two carbs together. this then squirts out of a pressed in jet at the rear of the carbs.

Are they fully operational now?
I may have to attack a set of these soon if a certain deal comes off.

sadly not yet, the right hand carb (as you sit on the bike) is proving to be a bit of a stubborn bugger. I took the chance after tonights zoom meeting to pick up my own 450 nighthawk carbs to check the systems against. currently soaking overnight in redex and I'll give them another go tomorrow

success, the redex has done the trick overnight, I can now point the straw on a tin of carb cleaner down the fuel hole and it atomises nicely out of the jet. did one more check against my nighthawk carbs and found that one of the holes in the accelerator pump housing was also blocked (there should be flow between the marked holes) so I'v borrowed the good one off the nighthawk and put the other to soak in redex

right so no amount of soaking/blowing has cleared this passageway with bad grace (its like admitting to reading the instructions) I resorted to an interweb video, the helpful chappy showed how he clears them with a drill bit, the smallest I have is 1mm which has opened it out very slightly (fingers crossed that I havent screwed it up) and the blockage still took some shifting. fingers crossed its ok now
